Traction Distribution (TRD)

The TRD organisation in an arm of electrical department . The organisation was formed in October 1992.

It was set up mainly to meet the tough gradient section transport of freight and passenger service, which is essentially needed in efficient working of this division viz SBC-JTJ-KGI section .

The TRD SBC division organisation is headed by DEE/TRD and AEE/TRD ,who are assisted by no of supervisor 16, skilled 62 and 74unskilled staff men 

This organisation has benefited the railways by :

  • Reduction of operating Expenditure

  • Reduction of Foreign Exchange on Diesel

  • Heavy negotiating torque at high speed which will result in reduction of running time.

  • Facility for running of EMU and MEMU service to meet the demand of Suburban traffic

  • Nullifies pollution by 100 % and eco friendly

Innovations

  • Electrification of BYPL / Road I 'C 'track passenger fit line with in 40 days to have traction change over from Diesel to AC and vice versa for North/East/West/ bound train YPR at BYPL without any further loco changeover up to North/East/West and which will reduce the running time by 30 minutes up to Madras.
    .

  • BYPL cross over point No 53- 80 mts electrified for easy traction change purpose without waiting for DRM lump sum sanction and for stabling Diesel Loco cut after traction change over.
    .

  • A.C. locos, branch line called bahar electrified on safety ground , to keep trip attended . A.C. locos ready at one safe place and for ready dispatch to attach for passenger /freight train .
